I had my first ‘real’ art show the other day, which was a pretty fun, exhausting experience – who could know just how much hard work really goes into setting up a show – not just creating the artworks, but finding the right materials to display them, being able to transport and store the artworks, as well as protect them from the public viewing them!
Especially when working with some unconventional materials. The show in question was for the listening party for the new Dappled Cities album, l was interpreting a track called KID. I thought I would work outside my usual illustrative box and create works using materials and activities based on the childhood theme.
The end results relate to ideas of youth and the inner/outer child, what it really means to be young. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. See for yourself…
