So here is a little bit of shameless self promotion. Rhubarb Rhubarb is an arts/ comedy/ theatre collective that I am apart of and we are performing our underground cult sensation “The Mad Max Remix” at the World’s Funniest Island this October. The entire Mad Max trilogy, in under an hour. Re-edited and re-scripted into the story of Max, the greatest dancer of all time. In the tradition of Hercules Returns and Bargearse the re-edited film screens silently as we actors and foley artists redub our own, decidedly funnier, story LIVE!

Whether he’s chillin on the façade of a building or riding a bike, Crate Man sure brings a different approach to graffiti. And even though he’s been spotted at several locations around Australia, no one seems to know who’s responsible for the works.
In my attempt to raise awareness of great music, I would like to introduce something quite different from my previous post. This song, ‘Dusty’ is taken from the album ‘Handwriting’ (2003) by Khonnor a.k.a. Connor Kirby-Long, a 23-year-old American DIY musician. This song might not be his best one, but you’ll get the idea. It’s quite lo-fi, using “only an old PC, a microphone from a ‘Learn Japanese’ boxset and a single low quality PC speaker”, but the result is quite magical. Enjoy, it might very well change your life..
In an attempt to share with you some of the, in my opinion, best songs around, I’ll start with ‘New Noise’ by fellow Swedes, Refused. This song is taken from the album ‘The Shape of Punk to Come’, which might be unknown to most, but is a great and highly influential album. Released in 1998, it was years ahead of its time. Enjoy, it might very well change your life..

Designer Roland Tiangco created this interactive poster in which the recipient completes by revealing spot-varnished type with hands made dirty by handling the poster. I love that it’s more than just a poster and rather, a call to action.
It all started one night as I sat watching a movie in my living room. My camera sat next to me after a hard days work and I couldn’t help but pick it up and start taking photos of the room around me. After a few lack luster results I shifted my focus to the television and took a couple of snaps of the flickering monitor.

Singapore-based street artist TR853-1 (how’s that for a name?) creates stenciled skateboarders and uses urban features like drains, pipes and shadows to bring them to life.
While Jess Scully was studying Journalism and Law at the University of Technology, Sydney, she helped develop and launch STU, a monthly magazine showcasing the talents of emerging Australian creatives. She then took on the role of editor of Yen, a bi-monthly glossy title bridging the divide between art, design, style and social issues, before launching Hotpress, a monthly music magazine again placing local musicians, filmmakers in an international context.
